Pitfall Classic Postmortem With David Crane Panel at GDC 2011 (Atari 2600)

Back in the days when the Atari 2600 (or VCS or Video Computer System) was not only king but the only royalty in sight, one of my favorite games was Pitfall by Activision.  Although I had no idea at the time, Activision was started by a group of Atari programmers who didn't like the fact that they didn't get credit for the games they produced.  I've heard it said that the factory line workers who assembled the cartridges got better pay and more respect from Atari than the game programmers who made it all possible.  That's cold, Atari.  Or maybe I'm just biased because I've spent a lot more time programming than assembling.  Gamespot has a video on YouTube from 2011 where David Crane talks about how he created Pitfall.  What was supposed to be a 30 minute presentation ends up being an hour, but it's worth watching.
