Minecraft 165 - Pig Spawners Explained

I try to explain my understanding of why multiplayer servers show pigs in all the monster spawner cages instead of the correct monsters as they do in the single player version of the game. The short version is that in the single player version of the game, your computer creates the monsters spawned from the spawner, so it needs to know what type it is. In the multiplayer version, it's the server computer that creates the monsters spawned from the spawner, so your computer doesn't have a need to know what type of spawner it is. Pigs are apparently the default type of spawner.

That said, it should be a relatively simple code change to have the server to send the spawner type to the client anyway, just for consistency.

To demonstrate, I use the Minecraft World Downloader http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/333322-11-world-downloader/
